Two Co Cavan brothers celebrated a remarkable double win at the Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards 2026.
18- year-old Liam Raymond who attends 'Coláiste Dún an Rí', Kingscourt was named Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year 2026, winning first place overall at the awards ceremony.
Meanwhile, his 12-year-old brother Fionn Barra Raymond who is in 6th class at Muff National School was awarded Ireland's Junior Young Filmmaker of the Year for his film The Battle of Time.
Speaking on today's Joe Finnegan Show, after achieving double success for the family at yesterday's award ceremony at the Mansion House, Dublin, 18-year-old Liam said he "genuinely felt" like he was walking into the Oscars.
Liam who is a major fan of Tim Burton said he's been writing stories ever since he was the age to hold a pencil.
The local student said it's his number one goal in life to become a filmmaker and he also credited his younger brother's acting skills for making his short film the success that it is:
