A drink and drug-free festival will take place from today in Co Cavan.
Crowds are expected to gather for the inaugural Healing Bridges Festival, which follows on from the healing retreats that organic farmer, Gearoid Teevan has held on his farm outside of Milltown in recent years.
Previously speaking to Northern Sound ahead of festivities, the Cavan man who will celebrate 12 years of sobriety later this year felt "the time was right" for such an event, as it will provide a "safe space" for people and families to come together in a sober manner, for some light-hearted fun and entertainment.
The festival, which will see a pool of talent perform, has been described as a family affair with music, food, dance, art, yoga, and a host of other activities.
The event will take place from today, until Sunday August 28th.
