The driver of a white van that failed to stop at a Gardai checkpoint at Corclare in Shercock yesterday is to appear before the district court.
After failing to stop, Gardai followed the vehicle and intercepted it a short time later.
The driver failed a roadside breath test for alcohol and was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop and drink driving.

Gardai also discovered that the driver had no insurance, NCT or tax.
The van was detained and the driver charged accordingly.
