Over half a million euro has been announced for Community Education Programmes run by the local ETB.
The funding will go towards projects across Cavan and Monaghan aimed at supporting "community education for adult learners who have a high level of need".
The money will go towards the provision of equipment like laptops, as well as to centres already providing services like Teach na nDaoine and the Cavan Traveller Movement.

The announcement has been welcomed by local TD Brendan Smith and Senator Joe O'Reilly, who says it will go towards funding important projects:
