The fire broke out at Barratitoppy Upper at around 4pm today.

Emergency services are attending a large gorse fire on Bragan Mountain.

The fire broke out at Barratitoppy Upper at around 4pm today.

Fire crews from Monaghan, Ballybay and Clones are in attendance, with Gardai asking that people avoid the area at this time.

They are asking that the Bragan scenic loop in particular is kept clear to allow access for emergency vehicles.

The cause or scale of the fire is not yet known.

A Condition Orange high fire risk warning is in place across the country until Monday, due to the recent warm and dry weather.
