Fine Gael will hold its Local Election Launch tonight in Carrickmacross. The build-up to local elections in June is well underway for the party with the convention process now completed. Sitting Councillors Richard Truell and Sean Gilliland will represent Fine Gael in the Ballybay/Clones Municipal District.
Meanwhile, Councillor Aidan Campbell and Councillor Peter Conlon will be on the ticket in Carrickmacross/Castleyblayney MD. In Monaghan Municipal District, Cathaoirleach David Maxwell will seek election for the fourth consecutive time, while first time candidate, Pauric Clerkin announced recently that he will also put his name on the ballot ahead of the local Elections on June 7th. Minister for Social Protection and Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys TD and Senator Joe O'Reilly will also attend tonight's Local Election Launch in the Shirley Arms Hotel in Carrickmacross.
