Paddy Conaty, who has Parkinson's for 35 years, was due to receive the Astra Zeneca vaccine at Drogheda's Institute of Further Education yesterday.

A former Cavan Fianna Fail councillor, who has Parkinson's, says he is disappointed that his vaccine appointment was cancelled yesterday.

Paddy Conaty was due to receive the Astra Zeneca vaccine at Drogheda's Institute of Further Education but the change of recommendations from NIAC saw the appointment cancelled the night before.

While, he says he is a practical man and understands the caution, he stated that he would have been happy to take the vaccine regardless.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound he said that he has missed a lot the last year and hopes those who have had appointments cancelled will be prioritised:
