The funeral arrangements have been announced for a mother and son who lost their lives during a tragic house fire in Cavan over the weekend. Kathleen and Michael Lynch died in a blaze at their rural home in Lackenmore, Ballyjamesduff at around 2am on Sunday morning.
The late Kathleen Lynch who was aged in her 80s and her son Michael who was aged in his 50s were both pronounced dead at the scene before their bodies were taken to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital on Sunday.
The fatal blaze broke out at their family home located in Lackenmore - a rural area between Ballyjamesduff and New Inns.
The joint funeral mass of the late Kathleen Lynch and her son Michael will take place at 12 noon on Thursday afternoon in St Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff. Both Kathleen and Michael will be sadly missed by their family, friends, neighbours, and the wider Ballyjamesduff community following their tragic deaths.
