The funeral mass of a man who died in a single-vehicle collision in Cavan last weekend will take place this afternoon.
36-year-old Richard Merriman was originally from Ankerland, Castlepollard, Westmeath, but lived in the Knocktemple area of Cavan.
The fatal collision happened last Saturday morning, at around 3.45 on the L3022 at Virginia.

Richard has been described as a "true gentleman" and a "wonderful, kind person."
His funeral mass will take place in St. Feichin's Church, Fore, Westmeath, at 12pm, with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
