Further increase in number of people locally in receipt of PUP

There's been a further increase in the number of people locally in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

The biggest local increases were seen across Co Cavan.

An increase of 185 in Cavan leaves 1,005 people on the payment.

Meanwhile, there's been an increase of 141 in Monaghan, where 922 people are in receipt of the PUP.

Nationwide, 75,648 people are in receipt of the PUP, an increase of close to 9,000 on the week previous.

Accommodation and food service activities makes up the bulk of this national figure, with 16,098 people involved in this sector on the payment.
