The Garda Regional Armed Support Unit has been officially launched in Cavan today.
The RSU is a specialist unit of An Garda Siochana and has been operational in the local region for a number of months, prior to today's event.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and Justice Minister Heather Humphreys were among those in attendance at the event at Cavan Garda Station.

A plaque marking the event was also unveiled this morning.
