A Garda remains in hospital this evening following an alleged ramming of a patrol car in Co Monaghan.
A female garda sustained injuries during the course of the incident on Thursday and remains in hospital in Drogheda, while a male Garda who was also injured has been discharged from hospital.

Northern Sound FM understands that the injuries sustained to the female Garda are significant but not life threatening.

After 1pm on Thursday, a Garda vehicle was rammed by a Northern Ireland registered Audi while on patrol on the R184 at Tullycorbett in north Co Monaghan.
The two occupants of the car fled the scene. The area was searched and a man in his 20s – believed to be the passenger of the vehicle was arrested.
Gardai are continuing to appeal for information. They want to hear from anyone who may have seen a dark grey Audi A6 with northern registration plates, in the vicinity of the R184 between Ballybay and Clontibret between 11am and 2pm on Thursday to contact them.
