Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in Kerry. The man in his 80s was found dead at his home in the Castlemaine area yesterday morning.
His remains have since been removed to University Hospital Kerry for a post-mortem exam - the results of which will determine the course of the investigation. Anne Lucey, a journalist in Kerry, says the man was found with suspected gunshot wounds: "The house is about three miles from Castllmaine on the main Tralee Road," the journalist reports, "I'm hearing the man suffered possible gunshot wounds, however, he is a licensed gun holder and the nature of his profession has to do with a rifle range. "
