Gardaí have launched an investigation following an aggravated burglary in Monaghan.
The incident occurred at a residence in Monaghan town on Thursday evening.
The male occupant of the premises was injured when a number of people reportedly entered the property and assaulted him.
Gardai say he was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment due to the injuries he sustained.
Investigations are ongoing at this time into the incident that’s believed to have occurred in the Glenview estate in the town.
