The Government is being called on to put the funding in place to open the Group Home in Carrickmacross.

The building, which will cater for people with physical and sensory disabilities, has sat idle for more than three years, because the HSE hasn't had the budget to run it.

The project was put to tender in 2019, but the winning company was seeking payment in excess of what it was expected to cost to run.

Monaghan County Council is to write to Ministers Stephen Donnelly and Pascal Donohoe to make sure adequate funding is given to the HSE for 2021.
