Wildlife, local economies and tourism in Cavan and Monaghan have been awarded funding of over €100,000 under Heritage Council schemes.
Cavan County Museum receives €13,950 to develop an interactive interface in the museum while Killeshandra Tidy Towns Heritage Group was awarded €18,000 to carry out urgent work on a mausoleum set with the Jacobean church and graveyard.
Meanwhile, in Monaghan, the County Museum will receive €20,000 to develop the use of objects from the museum collection that have never been on public display together.
St Louis Secondary School in Monaghan was awarded €20,000 in funding.
The school will undertake conservation and repair works to three window sections in the gable oriel window, and to five doors to the front of the protected building.
Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan said he felt assured that Ireland’s heritage - in all its forms - was "in safe hands".
