High vacancy rates locally could be sign of more digital businesses

High commercial vacancy rates in local counties could be a sign of more businesses going digital.

Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon have the worst commercial vacancy rates in the country according to a new report by GeoDirectory.

Monaghan and Cavan had vacancy rates below the national average at 13 per cent.

The number of commercial property units lying empty across the country is at its highest level in nine years at just under 30,000.

CEO of GeoDirectory Dara Keogh told Shannonside Northern Sound that vacancy rates doesn’t mean businesses are closing.
