Honorary Garda Leon Briody, from Co Cavan, arrived home to a hero's welcome yesterday after undergoing a bone marrow transplant.
He's said to be doing well after his surgery and has been allowed home to isolate with his family and aims to be back in school January next year.
Cavan gardaí have thanked everyone for the well wishes and prayers.

They've also paid thanks his neighbours in Castletara, the SNAs in Castletara School for their welcome home sign, Cavan Roads Policing Unit and Garda Gallagher, his Garda Buddy, for their help during his hero's welcome.
Local gardaí have wish their Little Blue Hero Leon continued success with his recovery.
