Hope the request for an inquest into Belturbet bomb will be granted

The group Justice for the Forgotten says now is the right time following a documentary into the atrocity saw the Garda investigation pick up again.

There is hope that the request for an inquest into the Belturbet bomb will be granted, and offer answers to the families of the victims.

KRW Law in Belfast, has lodged the application, with solicitor Kevin Winters stating that the Irish Government has shown an 'unwillingness' to carry out a meaningful investigation into this 'atrocity'.

Margaret Erwin, from Justice for the Forgotten, says that since the airing of a documentary on the incident the Garda investigation seems to have picked up and they hope that momentum will continue and form a full investigation.

She told Shannonside northern sound that there is evidence that has gone unexamined including the questioning of named suspects something they hope this inquest would look into:
