The HSE's Director of Public Health in the North East says a "tremendous amount of work" has been done by the people of Cavan

The HSE's Director of Public Health in the North East says a "tremendous amount of work" has been done by the people of Cavan and Monaghan to bring incidence rates down.

County Cavan once has the highest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 in the country, but now the three MD areas in Cavan are below the national average.

While Dr Augustine Pereira said there is some concern about the North Monaghan LEA, where the incidence rate is above the national average, he added that there has been good compliance with the restrictions.

Dr Pereira told Shannonside Northern Sound commended the people of Cavan and Monaghan for their response to the pandemic during the level 5 restrictions:
