The HSE says parents of 5-11 year olds in Cavan and Monaghan have responded positively to the vaccine roll-out.
Community vaccination centres in the two counties opened their doors to the younger cohort at the start of this week.
Public health experts are appealing to parents to read up on the benefits of the vaccination and register their children.
