Heather Humphreys said her six-week campaign will be focused on "community, unity and opportunity".
Speaking at her presidential campaign over the weekend, she said she was "getting on the road" and will spend three days at the ploughing championships.
Ms Humphreys said that she would "not be afraid" to speak her mind, if elected President, when dealing with the current government.
Heather Humphreys campaign launch in Monaghan town over the weekend was an event which was packed to the rafters. Hundreds waited for photos and to shake the Co Monaghan woman’s hands, an event seen as the beginning of the campaign that will see her traverse the country.
In her speech, Heather Humphreys highlighted community and farming as key issues and pledged to bring Áras an Uachtaráin closer to the people. She said the three pillars to her campaign are community, unity, and opportunity in a hope to bring people together and break down barriers.
When it comes to reaching out to people, she said she would be meeting as many people as possible and when it comes to social media, the local woman said she would be leaving that to her social media team.
With just under 40 days to go now until polling day and three names on the ballot paper as of yet, anything can happen between now and then. Heather Humphreys like the other candidates will be hoping that they can reach out to people and garner the support they need to get to the Aras for the next seven years.
