A Christmas Concert in aid of Crocus is set to be held on the 28th of December, next. The annual festive fundraiser is being hosted by Pauline and Martin Maguire.
Johnny Gallagher and the Boxty Band return to the Westenra on the night which will also see Johnny auction off his guitar. Mr Maguire told Shannonside Northern Sound that the fundraiser was first mooted in 2017.
He added that the Covid-19 pandemic of the last couple of years put a damper on proceedings during that time, so everyone is "delighted now to get back at it" this year. "In fairness, the people of Monaghan are amazing in what they do for Crocus.
"It's them who keep the doors open. Crocus provides a service but it's the people of Monaghan who keep the door open by raising money and providing the funds that are needed to do that," Mr Maguire said.
