Justice Minister tells O'Farrell family he will 'consider' public inquiry

Lucia O'Farrell says while Minister O'Callaghan didn't rule anything out, he didn't commit to anything either, however the family are "hopeful."

The Justice Minister's told the family of a cyclist, who was killed in a hit and run, he will consider whether to hold a public inquiry. Shane O'Farrell was cycling home when he was hit by a car in County Monaghan in 2011.

The driver of the car, Zigimantas Gradzuiska, failed to remain at the scene, and it emerged he had previous convictions at the time of the incident and should have been in jail for breaches of previous bail conditions. Shane's mother Lucia met with Minister Jim O Callaghan, to press their case for a public inquiry:
