It's the latest development in the controversial project.

There are fears the recently announced review into the North-South Interconnector will be a 'whitewash'.

Kingscourt Councillor Clifford Kelly says he doesn't believe local communities will get any piece of mind from the process.

The Taoiseach recently said another review into the controversial project would take place.

It comes as Eirgrid last week announced the 60km Kildare-Meath interconnector would be placed underground.

The decision has been described as making a 'mockery' of the North-South plans by the North East Pylon Pressure Campaign and 'egotistical and costly' by TD Matt Carthy.

However, Eirgrid has said placing the North-South Interconnector underground is not technically feasible.
