The launch of the 'Age Friendly Community Initiative' which is a partnership between An Garda Síochána, Monaghan County Council and Muintir na Tire was launched this week.
The initiative will see up to three hundred older people in Monaghan receive a visit from a Community Garda, and receive a gift pack and crime prevention advice.
The launch coincided with the first day of Monaghan Social Inclusion Week 2022.

According to Monaghan Gardaí, they are "delighted" to be linking in with many of the Community Alert Groups who have come on board to assist.
Gardaí also revealed that delivery of the packs to recipients will take place within the coming days.
