A leading international food group that is owned by a Cavan businessman has acquired a British meat snacks producer.
The deal will see Valeo Foods buy UK-based "New World Foods Europe", known for brands such as "Wild West".
Cavan-man Seamus Fitzpatrick is the Chief Executive of Valeo Foods, and his company Capvest Limited currently owns Valeo.

Major brands already owned by Valeo include Odlums, Batchelors, and Jacob's.
Meanwhile, a deal to sell Valeo Foods to American private equity group "Bain Capital", which was co-founded by former US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is expected to close within "weeks".
