Leon Briody from Co Cavan who passed away yesterday at the age of 9 has been remembered as "a brave little man" who "captured the hearts of a nation".
The Castletara boy passed away peacefully yesterday after fighting a courageous battle against leukaemia.
He had experienced multiple relapses and had undergone treatments including a bone marrow transplant and CAR-T transplant.
A online condolence said, “Leon was now a little angel in heaven who had touched the hearts of so many.” An Garda Síochána paid tribute to Leon on their social media saying honorary Garda Leon Briody will forever be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought and his wonderful smile whenever he greeted you.
