A letter on behalf of Cavan County Council will be issued to the Portuguese ambassador to Ireland in relation to missing woman Jean Tighe.
The Munterconnaught native was reported missing by friends she was staying in a hostel with in July 2020, however it was only when she didn't return to Ireland at Christmas that her family was informed of her disappearance.
According to Cllr Shane P O'Reilly, the Tighe family have been "stone-walled" in Portugal by authorities. He added that the community of Munterconnaught are very worried about the missing women and that her family have been left "devastated" by the lack of action taken by authorities in Portugal.
