It's being described as a Christmas miracle a week early.

After a last minute scare, the local community came together so that Santa could make an appearance in Newtownbutler over the weekend.

On Sunday, Santa, Mrs Clause and a few elves visited the border town, but it almost didn't happen when the wheels on his sleigh went missing the day before.

An appeal was launched on Facebook to try find suitable replacement wheels to ensure the parade could go ahead and communities from both sides of the border rallied around to locate the right parts.

Joyce Graham from Newtownbutler CDA said the support from the people of Clones and Donagh means the world to them.
