A local exercise physiologist says we should avoid 'instant gratification' when it comes to getting fit this year.

Niall Moynagh originally from Monaghan says quick fixes don't work and the longer it takes to get in shape the more likely it is to be sustainable.

He is encouraging people to make small changes and instead of focusing on exercise incorporate more activity into their daily lives.
