"Farmers have lost faith in the TB eradication programme in this country." That's according to Co Monaghan farmer and columnist with the Farming Independent,
Gerard Sherlock.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Gerard says this country has tried to eradicate TB since the 1950s. Since then, Gerard says "colossal money" has been spent over the years and farmers have suffered.
The local farmer says it's hard to believe the amount of money spent over the years yet no substantial progress has been made on the matter. He also outlined that the national herd is going down in numbers and we could see a scarcity in beef and dairy products in this county in the short term.
