Local GP welcomes news that gap between AstraZeneca vaccine doses could be reduced

The gap between the doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine could be reduced from 12 weeks to 8.

The National Immunisation Advisory Committee has recommended the move which will now go to the HSE for consideration.

It could mean thousands of people will be fully vaccinated sooner.

Local GP Illona Duffy is welcoming the news:

Meanwhile, 43-year-olds can register for a Covid-19 vaccine from today.

Registrations can be taken by the HSE online or by phone.

Those looking to sign up will need their PPS number and Eircode to hand.
