A local senator has announced that he is taking a step back from the social media platform X.
This follows controversy on the platform as the AI tool, Grok, has faced criticism for allowing users to create naked and sexualised images of women and children.
X has announced that Grok's "nudification" mode has been blocked in Ireland.
Senator Joe O'Reilly has deactivated his account, as he sees Grok as dehumanising to women and children.
He was previously a frequent user of X and viewed it as a useful medium to communicate and share information.
