A local Senator says the government should only fund third-level institutions that have action plans to combat sexual harassment.
Joe O'Reilly was supporting a motion by Independent Senator Lynn Ruane who said universities are using public money in non-disclosure agreements to silence victims.
Senator O'Reilly agreed that there's a history of sexual harassment and bullying being ignored and swept under the carpet in a number of sectors.

He called on the Minister for Higher Education to take steps to ensure full compliance.
