Monaghan Senator, Robbie Gallagher recently met with Canadian Ambassador to Ireland Nancy Smyth, and the American Ambassador to Ireland Claire D. Cronin.
According to the local Senator, Monaghan was "firmly on the agenda" throughout the meeting.
Speaking to Northern Sound , Senator Gallagher said he was was "keen" to discuss the strong links between Monaghan, Canada and America.
Topics covered included the continued fight for the Undocumented in America, the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Peace Agreement and continued support to peace and prosperity on the island of Ireland.
According to the local Senator, both Ambassadors confirmed that they will be visiting Monaghan in the very near future.
He added that he "looks forward" to welcoming Ambassador Cronin to Monaghan to explore links with America and build on them moving forward.
