Local soccer fan response to Boys in Green defeat

A Monaghan soccer fan is reacting to the Republic of Ireland's defeat to Czechia last night.

The Boys in Green lost 4 - 3 in penalties, after their semi-final ended 2-all following extra time.

Soccer fans around the country are voicing disappointment this morning, although supporters have praised the team's overall performance.

Johnny McManus, of Cavan Monaghan Soccer league wants people to turn this energy to grassroots soccer in Cavan and Monaghan.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Johnny appealed for people to support soccer across the region.
