A local Tidy Towns group is seeking planning permission for the renovation of two derelict structures to a gin distillery with a bar and function room.

Mullan Tidy Towns and Community Development has lodged the application, which would combine a two-story extension with the renovation.

The buildings, known locally as "The Felt" and "The Dance Hall", are "described as intricate parts of the village's industrial heritage".

Works to re-roof the buildings have been completed with the permission of its owner in recent years.

As well as a bar and function room, the gin distillery would include co-working office space and community facilities.

Permission is also sought for connection to the group sewage treatment system and car park.
