A local travel agent is advising people to take vouchers if they are no longer able to fly home due to new restrictions.
The Transport Minister has confirmed the 48 hour UK travel ban which is likely to be extended, in response to the rapid spread of a new strain of covid-19 in parts of the UK.
Mark Clifford, from O'Hanrahan Travel in Monaghan Town, says that while there are still ways into the country each person should consider whether it is responsible and safe to travel from an infected area in the UK.

He says The Irish Travel Agents Association has been working hard to get refunds for people over the past 9 months, however, it is a very slow process and vouchers are the quickest option:
