If anyone is not comfortable attending a vaccine appointment, they can reschedule.

Vaccination Centres in Cavan and Monaghan have put contingency plans in place due to the arrival of Storm Barra.

Emergency generators have been checked, as has the fridge alarm system to ensure that vaccines are kept in optimum condition.

People attending for vaccinations are advised that if there is a power outage, generators will kick in with emergency power.

Clients already in the building will be vaccinated but the remainder of the clinic may be cancelled.

The Cavan Vaccination Centre at the Hotel Kilmore is operating until 5 pm this evening for walk-in vaccination boosters for Health Care Workers aged 30 and older, and for people over 60.

In Monaghan, a scheduled booster vaccination clinic for those aged 60 to 69 is taking place at the Glencarn Hotel until 5.30 pm this evening.
