Locals urged to consider giving blood as hospital demand grows

Clinics are being held across the region in the coming months.

People are being urged to consider giving blood.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service has continued operating clinics during the pandemic on an appointment basis.

Clinics are running at various locations across the region this week, including in Ballyconnell today and Lough Gowna tomorrow and Thursday.

Demand for blood in hospitals has increased by 10 per cent since April as activity increases with the lifting of restrictions.
