Lough Muckno visitors asked to leave no trace ahead of tidy up

Plastic containers and bottles were discarded by people at Lough Muckno causing a local group to ask people to "kindly take their rubbish to the nearest bin".

Visitors to Lough Muckno are being asked to "leave no trace" after photos were taken of litter strewn around the scenic spot.

Plastic containers and bottles were discarded by people at Lough Muckno in the past days causing a local Facebook group to ask people to "kindly take their rubbish to the nearest bin".

"There are plenty of bins to use" the post also pointed out. Followers of the social media page expressed their annoyance at the litter-droppers in the comments section. One commentator said "It's a matter of culture, there is no responsibility". The request comes ahead of the Muckno Tidy Up organised by the Castleblayney Tidy Town Committee taking place tomorrow from 11am.
