A colleague of murdered Cavan garda Adrian Donohoe, has written a book about the longest police investigation in the history of the state.

He's appealing to motorists to ask the question, "are you OK to drive?"

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in response to Deputy Smith this week said policing structures are ultimately "a matter for the Garda Commissioner".

The donation, which was funded by the Kepak Community Fund, will allow the charity to continue the vital work it does throughout counties Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Meath and Louth.
