Major power cut in Monaghan town, as some businesses close doors

Over 1,200 homes, farms and businesses around Monaghan town are without electricity.

The ESB says the fault was recorded at around 12.30pm and they hope to have power back around 1.30pm.

Sources say some businesses in Monaghan town have closed their doors.

Some ATMs have also been affected by the power cut.
