Gardaí in Monaghan arrested a person connected with a Romanian organised crime gang. On the 4th of March last, Gardaí arrested an individual at the Monaghan Shopping Centre who they believe was targeting retail outlets alongside others.
Monaghan Gardaí believe that this individual is travelling the country with other gang members conducting alcohol thefts in retail outlets.
One person was detained close to the scene and has been remanded in custody.

Chief superintendent at Monaghan Garda Station Pat O’Connell says Gardaí are conducting a definite line of inquiries into the other suspects that were involved in these targeted crimes.
