A man in his 60s who was killed in a fatal collision last night in Cavan has been named locally.
Fergus McMenamin, of Main Street, Killeshandra, died after he was struck by a car on the R198 at around 9pm last night.
The collision occurred in the townland of Coras Point, between Cavan town and Crossdoney.

The R198 has since re-opened following the fatal collision and Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the crash
In particular they are seeking to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage, or travelled on the road between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
