The manager of a Cavan nursing home says they must proceed with caution when letting children visit.
The most recent guidelines for visitations at care facilities includes provisions to allow more nominated visitors, flexibility on time, and children to be allowed to see relatives.

However, Vicky McDwyer, managing director of Esker Lodge Nursing Home in Cavan says that while it is important for the residents to have these visits staff will be ensuring they’re in line with infection control measures.

She said this was a positive step and something that will be hugely beneficial for their residents.
