Members of Maudabawn Macra Na Feirme were recently crowned All Ireland champions.
The local group claimed victory at Macra's national drama competition which was held in Limerick.
The award-winning play titled "Seeing Red" was directed and produced by local talent Annemarie Bannon. Joanne Halpin and Ben Lynch helped with lights and sound whilst cast members included: Abbie Clarke, Glen Clarke, Damien Hand, Francis Mahon, Anna O’Reilly, Enda Shalvey and Sarah Smith.
The group will also be performing their award winning show once again on Bank Holiday Monday at 8pm in Gallonray House. 27-year old Sarah Smith was part of the All Ireland winning group. Speaking to Northern Sound, the Killinkere woman said the group was "over the moon" to get the win.
