McConalogue says there 'shouldn't be a problem' with turkeys at Christmas

'Poultry owners have been issued with an order to house their flocks from next Monday'

The Agriculture Minister is reassuring consumers there shouldn't be a problem with turkeys this Christmas.

It comes as poultry owners have been issued with an order to house their flocks from next Monday, to prevent the spread of avian flu.

Earlier this week a case of the bird flu was confirmed, after swan was discovered dead in Co Cavan.
