As part of Heritage Week 2023, Monaghan author Michelle McGoff-McCann will be launching her new book across Co Monaghan.
The first event will take place at Carrickmacross Library on Wednesday August 16th at 7pm.
A second book launch will take place the following evening at the Market House in Monaghan Town, on Thursday August 17th at 7pm.
The book which is titled 'The Irish Coroner: Death, murder and politics in Co Monaghan' follows the work of Monaghan coroner, William Charles Waddell.
Speaking to Northern Sound about the upcoming events, Michelle said she will present her findings and discuss the importance of Waddell's work with a particular focus on new insight into the Famine in Co Monaghan.
She will also talk about how her book details the abuses of power and authority during a time when the county's political life was controlled by landowning conservative elite.
